Update a Key Performance Indicator

After the initial set up of your Key Performance Indicator (KPI), you need to regularly update and enter data points. To update your KPI, complete these steps:

  1. From your Strategic Plan, click the breadcrumb at the top of the page and select Key Performance Indicators.

  2. Click on the name of the KPI you need to update. When the Key Performance Indicator screen opens:
    1. You will notice a speedometer icon. As you add in your data points, this automatically updates depending on how you adjusted your sliders.

The Update Needed message appears here when you need to make a data point entry.

    2. The graph portion of the screen builds out as you enter your data points.
    3. You can also save this graph as a picture or PDF, or get a public link to the graph to share with others. Note that if this is the first time you are making data points to this KPI, this graph will appear empty.
    4. Click the Gear icon to revise the threshold values you initially set when you created the KPI.

  3. To enter data points, scroll to the bottom of the window and complete these steps:
    1. Click the Breakdown plus icon.
    2. Select your Time Period. Depending on what you choose for Frequency of Measure, the drop-down will provide you options to select from for your Time Period.
    3. Enter your Actual value (dollar, number, or percentage value).
    4. Enter brief note or description about how the value was achieved or an explanation if it was not achieved.
    5. Click the green Check icon when finished to save this data entry and update the chart above.
